Does your baby need to be burped?
Is your baby too hot or cold?
If you have taken care of those needs and you still have a fussy baby, read below for some tips to try and soothe them.
Hold your baby and gently jiggle them. Babies love motion and this gentle jiggle motion will mimic their movement in the womb.
Try to give your baby a pacifier. Sucking is very soothing for infants.
If you are nursing, try and offer the breast for a comforting nursing session.
Swaddle your baby, they are used to being warm and snug in your womb, you can replicate that by using a swaddle.
Try to go on a ride or walk. Sometimes the motion of the car seat or stroller might be just what your fussy baby needs to calm down or settle in for a nap.
Try to baby wear your baby. Your presence is comforting for your infant, babywearing is a great way to give your baby the comfort they need and still be hands-free.
Take your baby outside. This change of scenery offers fresh air and new things to look at.
Turn on shushing sounds. Babies do not like quiet since they are used to the noisy womb environment.
Offer some skin-to-skin time. Skin to skin offers many benefits, but one of the best ones is calming your baby down and promoting sleep.
Give your baby a bath. The warm water can help your baby relax.
